Look—they're still pricey headphones. I won't deny it. That being said, they do offer a host of stellar features that make the price tag worth it if you have the cash or want to gift them to a very lucky person in your life. To start, the ear pads are made of a soft memory foam, so wearing AirPods Max for long periods of time is comfortable, even if you have earrings in. Our editor-in-chief, Liz Plosser, says she'll never travel without them—if you follow her on Instagram, you'll likely always see them on (or near) her. You'll be happy you have them on for long days of traveling, at the office, or even while sleeping.
The tech in the on-ear cans is top-notch, too. I could geek out about it, but I'll give you the TLDR version instead. It's still a hefty price tag, sure, but $450 is one of the lowest price that AirPods Max have ever been, so I'm absolutely not missing this sale (why yes, they are in my cart right now, tyvm).
