• BTS were nominated and took home multiple awards at the M2 x Genie Music Awards.
  • While they did win, they were not at the show due to being on a break.
  • They did send a special video message thanking fans for their win.

The M2 x Genie Music Awards were a big night for BTS as they took home multiple awards at the big award show. Even though it was expected for them to win a number of categories, the supergroup wasn't there to accept any of them, but they have a pretty good reason why.

While fans were upset to see that they didn't make a special appearance, the boys did send a cute video as their acceptance speech for the Global Popularity Award.

Although it's not the same thing as seeing BTS go on stage together, make a cute speech, and just be their usual goofy selves, the boys are currently on a break to recharge after their world tour and get ready for what's next.

Before you freak out, the break has been planned for a while now and it totally makes sense for them to take some time off to be with their families and go on a vacation or two before heading back on the road.

The break is set to last two months, although, they will be performing at the Lotte Duty Free Family Concert in mid-August. This also means that there's a chance they won't be at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards that are taking place on August 26. They are currently nominated for 4 awards, so they will definitely take home at least one on that night.

Their next big concert won't be until October 10, when they continue their Speak Yourself: Love Yourself tour in Saudi Arabia.

Until then, fans will just have to keep up with the boys through social media. If these pictures of J-Hope tell you anything, it's that they're definitely taking the time to relax and enjoy themselves on this break.
