"I wasn't ever afraid of people knowing who I loved," she explained to E! News. "More so, I was afraid of people having access to the human parts of me in an industry that can be so anti-human. That was definitely an emotional thing, but it turned out to be the best thing that could have ever happened to me. Mentally, I'm so much better now."

His music is clad with romantic references to both men and women, but he has not explicitly stated he's bisexual. In an interview with GQ, he was asked about his sexuality, to which he responded "I'll respectfully say that life is dynamic and comes along with dynamic experiences, and the same sentiment that I have towards genres of music, I have towards a lot of labels and boxes."

"I was just in panic constantly. I wasn't [straight], but I was so freaked out by the idea of my sexuality not being finite or people laughing at me — or me laughing at myself — that I hated the first year of filming [The Sex Lives of College Girls]," she shared. The singer has also written tracks like "What Can I Do" about falling for a female friend.

"I want to announce that I’m bisexual, and I’m now proud to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community," the TikTok star revealed in an interview with Teen Vogue. Olivia says that until recently, though, she didn't even think about bisexuality as an option for her. "I feel like it didn't really even occur to me until I moved out here [to Los Angeles] that being bisexual was even a possibility in my brain," she said.
Olivia also credits JoJo Siwa's decision to come out for inspiring her to do the same. "I saw that and thought 'Wow, that’s really amazing for young children now because she's such a big role model,'" Olivia said. "And she’s really become almost a role model for me to look up to as well."Now, Olivia wants to inspire others as well. "I want to let young girls know that it’s okay to not even know your sexuality until you’re older."

In 2009, she told British television host Jonathan Ross that her megahit "Poker Face" was inspired by her often "think[ing] about women" while "having sex with her boyfriend." However, in 2019, the star touched on bisexual exclusion during a visit to the historic Stonewall bar in New York City. "I may not, to some people, be considered a part of this community, even though I like girls sometimes. I would never degrade the fight you have endured," she said.
