These days, you can't go anywhere without hearing Olivia Rodrigo's music. The 19-year-old has fully taken over the music scene with her incredibly catchy choruses and bridges that make you want to whip out a hairbrush and dance around the room. But Olivia's star isn't the only thing on the rise — her net worth is as well, and since the start of her career, the singer has racked in a lot of dough.

The massive success of “SOUR”

Unsurprisingly, her music most likely makes up a big percentage of this paycheck. In case you forgot, "Drivers License" was a smash hit and became the first song to pass 1 billion streams on Spotify in 2021. In fact, Olivia has been so successful, she even has Spotify shook.

"We’ve never seen anything like this, where you do have a newer artist that just comes out of the gate in such a dominant way and just continues to grow,” Spotify’s Global Hits Lead Becky Bass told Billboard in January 2021. "I mean, we were like, 'Whoa, these first-day numbers are huge!’ And then they were bigger the second day, bigger the third day…so it really feels unprecedented and likely is unprecedented."

The rest of the “SOUR” album was also a hit on the charts, and earned the number one spot as the most globally streamed album in 2021 on Spotify, per the streaming platform’s end-of-year wrap-up.

According to research by Orpheus Audio Academy, the average pay-out per stream on Spotify is $0.003. Of course, that price varies per country, and different streaming platforms like Apple Music and Deezer pay between $0.006 and $0.007 per stream. Multiply that by 1 billion, and that's a pretty penny.

However, Olivia has interpolated several songs on her album. She gave writing credits to Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff, and St. Vincent for the influence their original work on "New Years Day" and "Cruel Summer" had on Olivia's songs. Liv also gave Hayley Williams and the former guitarist of Paramore, Joshua Farro, credit for implementing elements from their 2007 smash hit, "Misery Business," into "Good 4 U." Because of this, Olivia paid out $1.2 million in royalties to Paramore and close to three-quarters of a million dollars to Taylor, Jack, and St. Vincent. This may affect her net worth, but it doesn't undermine her success and the incredible strides she's made.

Following the release of her debut album, Olivia was nominated for seven (!!) Grammy Awards, and went home with three wins, including Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Pop Vocal Album. She’s also won an American Music Award, Billboard Music Awards — oh, and has been named Billboard’s Woman of the Year — a Brit Award, MTV Video Music Awards, and a handful of People’s Choice Awards. And this is just the beginning of her award-winning career.

Don’t forget merch and the “SOUR” tour

Of course, with music there's merch, and fans were quick to snag Olivia's drops for “SOUR.” She has a line of products — including sweats, jackets, tees, vinyl records, hats, and keychains — featuring lyrics and motifs from her hit songs. We certainly wouldn't be surprised if she was making loads off of it because, personally, we want to cop it all.

To close out her breakthrough year in 2021, Olivia announced a massive world tour that kicked off in April 2022. The 40-date “SOUR” tour visited cities across North America and Europe, and as of December 10, was completely sold out. According to Barry's Tickets, the average ticket price was $155, with the cheapest selling for $68.

Ticket demand was already overwhelmingly high, but was certainly exacerbated by Olivia's choice to only play small venues and ballrooms. Seats sold so quickly that many fans lost out on purchasing when they were either immediately siphoned onto digital wait lists or were impeded by Ticketmaster's technical difficulties. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Olivia explained her decision to not headline any major arenas: "I don't think I should skip any steps," she said.

She took to Instagram on December 11 to reassure fans that there will eventually be more opportunities to see her live: "If you weren’t able to get tickets this time around there will be more tours in the future and I can’t wait to see you then!!!!," she wrote.

But the success of her “SOUR” album didn’t culminate in just record-breaking streaming numbers, tons of accolades, and a huge, sold-out-in-seconds world tour. In March 2022, Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U (A Sour Film) debuted on Disney+. The concert film featured never-before-seen footage, surprise performances, and commentary from the superstar herself, as she road-tripped from Salt Lake City — the location she started penning her album — to Los Angeles.

Olivia is also an actress

All of this success, and we haven’t even covered her acting yet. Olivia got her first big role in Disney's Bizaardvark back in 2016, and then in 2019, she landed the part of Nini Salazar-Roberts on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. ICMYI, Olivia stepped down from a regular cast member to a recurring guest star in season three, and will not return for season four. While we don't know exactly how much Olivia made from these roles, according to TMZ, Olivia's former Bizaardvark co-star, Ethan Wacker, made $375K over the first two seasons and Olivia had a more major role than he did. It’s previously been reported that Disney stars make somewhere in between $12,000 and $20,000 per episode, so we can guess that her HSM salary likely hovered somewhere around there.

She’s landed some $$$ brand deals

Last year, Liv collaborated with CASETiFY on a line of phone cases that encapsulated her pop-punk aesthetic. New collections have debuted since, and are still available to purchase, retailing between $48 and $72.

Then in April 2022, the multi-hyphenate became the first celebrity face of beauty brand Glossier. She’s appeared in a number of social media posts for the brand, and starred in a dreamy campaign.

So, it's safe to say Olivia is doing well for herself, but exactly how well? According to Celebrity Net Worth, Olivia is worth $5 million dollars. But it’s very likely that this number has increased in recent months (see all of the above). Plus, Olivia’s back in the studio working on new music, which means a new album is otw. So, yeah, it's safe to say she's been having a good couple years, and definitely has some promising ones still to come.
